Horrible experience!We rented a car and received another one with few damages that were visible, however this was reported in the check list. On the day of the drop off, some of the painting was coming off ( pealing ) as it was recently done. The painting was clearly newly made and was in the same area as the damages. When we arrived to the drop off, straight away the agent notice this, starting to scratch even more, making it look worst, taking pictures of the area and sending them to their boss, claiming we had to pay for it. We were in completely shock. We denied as we could clearly see that that was painting coming off previously made. We even have pictures and videos to prove. They claimed we scratched the car. I asked to speak to the manager, who was not pleasant and did not let us talk and explained the situation. The next thing, they charged without permission 205 euros from my account, not even a quotation we received to verify how much the painting costs. Terrible. Never again!

I had to pay extra to get out of the airport eventhough i paid for pickup/drop off fee and when delivering the car i had to pay €10 for cleaning. I rent all over the world and never had to pay extra for a cleaning. I send a complaint to the company about these issues, never got a response.

We rented a Suzuki Espresso vor about 3 Weeks. All converstion regarding pick-up und return of the car had been runing very smoothly by Whatsapp. The car was clean without any damage and with a small walk around the car at beginning and end we finished without any claim discussion. There is no office inside the airport but the agent will pick you up at the exit and the car is at nearest parking. Return was the same easy way at depature Gate. From my side I can recommend Crystal car for Mauritius.
The car of my choice was unavailable but I got an amazing rental car instead. Nissan note epower is a sublime vehicle, strong and very economic, ideal for busy driving around the island. Price was also reasonable and I'd recommend using Crystal Car Rental to all.

My name is Vladimir. I will try to explain whole situation.This year I was, in different countries. Europe, Asia, Middle East. In each country we have experienced car rentals. Probably in Mauritius was most difficult and non safe service.First of all, we ordered car, Kia Rio or similar. On pictures on website it was last generation. In additional options was mentioned Bluetooth, air condition.We ordered vehicle to hotel, car was delivered. Instead of Kia Rio , we received Suzuki baleno, I think it’s around 2-3 years old car, car was everywhere scratched, dents, front and rear bumpers were not properly fitted. Mileage was 98 000 km. This was first problem “expectation problem”. Car was clean inside. But the guy who bring the car said “you pay 10 euros or clean by yourself” this is my first experience when rental company charges for cleaning. I mean if you once get on beach, it’s 10 euros. Both guys mentored that they are not working in this company, they are just friends of owner, helping him, so they just collecting and just giving cars. Do not wait any assistance from these people. After expectation problem, we get real problem. Air conditioner working ONLY when car drives. if car is parked, AC is blowing probably same air as outside. We found this problem approximately in 5-10 minutes after we get car, guys who bring vehicle said that air conditioner is working and they will not come back. After calling to manager of this company, 15 minutes of explaining that we are not good with this problem we get offer: drive to our repair centre, we will check. nobody can help you at the moment. The manager mentored a lot of times that we are rental company and you need to give back what you receive, that means probably “deal with all problems also by yourself”. The biggest problem in this conversation that everybody was trying explain me that AC is good on the phone, while I been in the car and AC was blowing hot air. When we get offer to came to station, we start driving, and AC starts blowing cold air, as manager mentored their station was far away( we waited address from manager approximately 20 minutes, and never get) we decided to leave this problem, and start our vacation as it is.This was day of collection. 4 days before drop off on highway left rear tyres blew up. I changed to the spare wheel, driven to local car parts shop. They told me that it’s very rare size of tyre, they have only one, so it was changed. All this information was sent to manager. In this moment we get information that insurance self risk payment is 25 000 rupees or approx 500 EUR. This insurance doesn’t work with windows, tyres, and probably working only if you get in road accident and you are not guilty. Otherwise you need to close all problems from your own pocket. Even engine and gearbox. On day of dropping off car, I received call at 7 morning, from same guys who are just helping, with question can we have a car. Car was delivered at 12, so why they are calling at 7 morning? When the same guys arrived, first word were: my friend said that you need to pay 4000 rupees for 1 tyre. After approximately 1 hour of speaking, and trying to explain that in whole normal world it is not okey to treat clients this way. we paid 8 000 rupees (approximately 200 EUR) for 2 new tyres. Please notice that car was on 4 tyres and good to go. One of replaces tyres wasn’t brand new. But for this car in my opinion it’s very good. In this company standards of quality works only for them. You as I client need to understand that you will not get anything, but they will ask maximum. They want perfect tyres probably on trash car. These 2 guys who are just helping, told “that this manager will write to police and you will stuck here, miss all flights and you get in trouble. You need to pay, you need to pay” they told about situation, when some their client forgot to turn off lamp inside the car, and battery was dead (very curious is the battery also new?) they send on this client police and was probably forced to pay. finally very bad experience.
I really dislike giving bad reviews but I have to with this company. I booked a car and asked for delivery to my hotel. It arrived late which meant I I had to interrupt my breakfast - not a big deal and I wasn’t that concerned at the time but bear in mind it is unlikely to arrive for the time you ask. As for the vehicle itself, I have rented cars a few times now and this vehicle was in poor physical condition, it was old and was high mileage. The car itself did not run well at all and really lacked power. I also asked for a child seat but they brought me a baby seat which was not suitable for my 3 year old son. I queried this and was told to contact the office. I phoned the office who said they would try and sort something out but it meant I couldn’t go out anywhere with my family and the day was wasting. After a few hours I phoned again to chase the replacement car seat and to my disbelief the person said they were doing me a favour and I should have selected the booster seat and I selected the wrong seat. This was incorrect - there are three options baby seat, child seat and booster seat. A booster seat is for children 5+ so I selected the child seat which was correct. I heard nothing back. I then decided to go out in the evening to test the car and after about 30 mins of driving the car made an unusual noise, then started to lose power and smoke was coming out of the bonnet. I stopped and was in a relatively remote area. I telephoned the office with no answer and phoned and messaged the guy who dropped the car off and no reply. I left the car there and luckily found someone who took me to a nearby hotel where I got a taxi. It was a very stressful experience. The next day I spoke to the office who told me they hadn’t carried out checks properly and there was no coolant in the car! Shambolic way to run a company. They refunded the money to me and I rented from another company with no issues. Be warned!

Price is very competitive and having someone meet you at the airport for car pickup and drop off, avoiding queues, is a big plus! Extremely professional and well managed rental car service. We picked our car in Flic en Flac and returned it at the airport. The car was well maintained and clean. Had a bit of sand on the inside as it was Sunday and the previous users could not clean it before handover. However the team gave us MUR350 to have it cleaned which was very professional . We loved driving around Mauritius thanks to the beautiful roads and great car.

I shopped around a bit for car rentals and came across Crystal. In turn I the. Had a conversation with another couple who had previously used Crystal to rent a car from. So we booked.After picking the car and the options the process was very easy. The website has several drop off points but they also do offer to drop at hotels so just email / make a note on the reservation at the time of booking if this is what you want.Our car was upgraded to a Kia Sportage which was a bigger car but a much welcomed one for us personally - we booked a small car to get around the island which would be fine but we certainly prefer driving higher vehicles.At drop off it was quick and easy and the car is checked over with the handling team and yourself and then signed. This is to note any previous damage to the vehicle.On return the same process is done, the handling team give it a once over and check the car is clean. All they ask is don’t make it super dirty, respect the car as if it were your own.My recommendations to the company mind would be to invest in portable hovers for the vehicles to eliminate the need for sand within the car if this is their worry. A simple solution.Our only note would be to be flexible on the times for drop off and pick up. We booked for 10:30 and the vehicle arrived at 11;30 but in return it was a later pick up for returning. This did however mean we missed a portion of our activities as a result of the late drop off and unfortunately for us when asking to have the car later we were told it wasn’t possible so missed out on opportunities on the return day as well. It is what it is but next time I’d book to have a morning drop off and then an evening return time to really ensure the flexibility.Would use the service again, would recommend.

I have a strong doubt about the veracity of all the 5 stars reviews, as our experience was quite awful. They are accusing us of not paying the cleaning fee when the cleaning fee was definitely deducted from our credit card few days later after the rental. I won't recommend the company to anyone visiting the island.
